They do slow down in late fall /early winter when there is less daylight... and late fall is often when they molt their feathers which causes them to lay infrequently..and if they are getting on in age. We have an abundance of eggs mow as molting is finished, there is more light, and our young ones have just started laying for the first time.
I understand Chickens don't lay eggs as much in the winter, is that right? The place I was buying them from took their sign down.
